　　Although online poker is one of today’s most widely spread sports, its status is still uncertain many countries all over the world, as it’s put in the same category as games that are based solely on luck. This gray area that online poker has found itself in has prevented many poker players to pursue their favorite game, mainly due to possible legal repercussions that might arise. The United States are a perfect example, as recently the country has found itself in the middle of heated arguments for and against online poker being legalized. Many online poker pros have found themselves looking for a new country to call home, and many online poker rooms, from the smallest to even the largest of them all, have been forced to shut down in the US.

　　But things are looking up. The latest poker news are set to bring back some of the glory that online poker has lost over the summer, between the numerous scandals surrounding the sport. And who better to improve on online poker’s resume than one of the largest media giants on the internet today: Facebook.

　　Throughout the years, Facebook has made little changes to their advertisement system, but one of them remained in effect until recently: it did not support any ads from any online poker sites. However, this week everything changed, and Facebook is now allowing online gambling companies to advertise through the site. This includes online poker sites, and we’re about to witness the first of these ads available on the social media site.This new policy does not give unlimited freedom to online poker sites.
