赌场老板的妻子寻求合法拆分

　　赌场老板和底特律商人唐巴登的妻子贝拉·马歇尔已经收到了临时禁制令，以此来保护夫妻双方的资产。她的目的，是控告丈夫在财政管理上的不合理。现在，她也正在寻求合法的财产分配。

　　马歇尔说，她的丈夫已经病了。这就是她之所以要求有令一个监护人的原因。在遗嘱认证法院立案时，确认到他目前的地址是在底特律市中心的酒店。

　　巴登的代表发言人麦康奈尔说：“巴登先生在身体和精神上都能够管理自己的事务，以后也是一样。她拒绝进一步发表评论，是因为她认为这已经涉及到一个潜在的法律问题和个人的事件。”

　　1979年，巴登成为第一位拥有非洲裔电缆特许权的所有者，他是在2001年拥有拉斯维加斯赌场的第一个美国黑人。他先后被乌木杂志，TBS有线电视网，黑人娱乐电视和“黑色企业”杂志评为“最高国家商界领袖”。最近在密歇根纪事报获得了“终身成就奖”。

　　Casino Owner’s Wife Seeks Legal Separation

　　Casino owner and Detroit businessman Don Barden’s wife Bella Marshall has received a temporary restraining order protecting the couple’s assets. She seeks to have him declared incompetent in the management of their finances. She also is seeking a legal separation.

　　Marshall said her husband is not himself and he is ill. This was the reason why she asked for a guardian. His current address is shown as a hotel in downtown Detroit, in the probate court filing.

　　Darci McConnell, spokeswoman for Barden said that Mr. Barden is both capable both physically and mentally of managing his affairs and continues to do the same. She refused to comment further as she thought this involves a potential legal and a personal matter.

　　In 1979, Barden became the first African-American cable franchise owner and he was the first African American to own a Las Vegas casino in 2001. He has been named as a top national business leader by Ebony magazine, the TBS cable network, Black Entertainment Television and Black Enterprise magazine. The Michigan Chronicle newspaper most recently awarded a lifetime achievement award.

　　More than a year ago, Barden’s Majestic Star casino company declared bankruptcy. Barden could lose most or all of his ownership in the casinos, under reorganization plans yet to be approved. The company owns the Fitzgerald’s casinos in Blackhawk, Colo., and Tunica, Miss and two casino boats in Gary, the Majestic Star and Majestic Star II. While the company reorganizes, the casinos continue to operate.

　　Last week, Majestic Star filed suit against Barden and Barden Development for more than $2 million. After Barden allegedly changed the firm’s tax status last year, the company said it was forced to pay the State of Indiana and the Internal Revenue Service.
