大西洋城加大裁员幅度

　　在九月，大西洋城的赌场被迫削减将近1400个就业岗位，与去年裁员相比多了300多名。

　　在9月，赌场历来削减的旅游业就业岗位在劳动节后有所放缓。与传统赌场不同，网上赌场使用较少的劳动力就可以完成相应的工作。

　　根据新泽西州赌场管制委员会公布的数据可以看出，博彩业共减少总劳动人口35917，这同时也反映出博彩收入进入持续疲软的状态，所有11个赌场酒店也都削减他们的员工数量。

　　In September, Atlantic City casinos were forced to cut almost 1,400 jobs and increase of more than 300 job cuts last year.

　　While the sluggish economy and competition from casinos in surrounding states have put additional pressure on Atlantic City gaming operators to cut even deeper to reduce costs, the seasonal jobs routinely cut after business slows down at the end of the peak summer tourism season.

　　Brian J. Tyrrell, associate professor of hospitality and tourism management studies at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey said, “The seasonality of the industry dictates employment. You have fewer employees with less business”。

　　Overall, in this September 1,389 jobs were eliminated. In September 2009 and 1,015 in September 2008, there were 1,067 job cuts. This September, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, the industry’s largest employer, led the pack with 272 job cuts. Casino Control Commission figures show that Borgata’s work force now stands at 6,685.
